On your laptop press Ctrl + Alt + Del keys and select
changed password

How do I access email externally
through webmail? (using any computer & internet browser for e.g. Microsoft
Edge, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safar etc.,
Login in
with your provided user name (username) and password.
How do I change the details in my signature?
You can
change your signature details by advising Service Desk, except Job tiltle
change need to go through HR
Change the password when you are
outside of the office (offsite)
Connect Forticlient
(refer page no. x for more details)
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del keys and select changed password
Lock your computer and unlock with the new password. Now the new
password will be effective for your Laptop Windows login, Microsoft Outlook,
Skype for Business and any other George Clinical hosted resources.
For non-GC Computers or staff working from their Personal
Computers
Login to webmail à (top right corner of the browser)
Click Option à Change
Password.
The new
password should be minimum 8 characters with one numeric, one caps letter and
use special characters for more secure password. Refer password policy for more
details (hyperlink).
Working with work data
Where should I save work data to be share within my division?
Data has to be save in your divisional folders on the network and
it depends on your location. For George Clinical India staff – save to I: drive.
SharePoint – we facilitate browser-based collaboration and document management
platform for teams. Your divisional manager will advise the process if any need
of access to the team site. In addition,
SharePoint is the recommended storage for work data.
Where should I save individual
work data that has exclusive access to me
only?
Save this
data on your H: drive. Only you (and
IT for Admin purposes) can access data in your H drive.
Should I save work data on my C drive?
No…if your
hard drive crashes or laptop is lost or stolen, this data could be permanently
lost or compromised. NB: Desktop
& My Documents is located on your
C: drive – do not save work related data here.
Where should I save non-work data?
You can save
non-work related data on the C drive e.g. Music. IT takes no responsibility for
this data so if it is important you should have a backup.
Is my data backed
up?
Yes. Data on
the T, S and H drive is back up daily
Intranet
What is the
Intranet?
The Intranet
is called GC-Wiz. It is like internal website accessible only for Staff. It is
a collection of Instructions, Procedures, News items from various offices and
links to internal services and resources.

Skype for Business
Skype for
Business is part of our corporate collaboration tool; all staff have an account
created by default. Use from your desk for an Instant chat conversation, Audio
Video Call or present your desktop to your colleagues and others.
Sign in

By default,
skype for Business takes sign-in address username and password from windows
credential manager and logs in automatically.

How do I receive support from
Service Desk?
Web portal is
the preferred contact method for IT support or just email to servicedesk@georgeinstitute.org.in. You will
receive an automated email with a job number.

Forticlient (VPN – Virtual Private
Network)
Forticlient is the VPN client for
staff to remotely connect and access internal network resources.
Pre-requisite: Contact IT for
setting up your VPN access rights on the server end.
Install (George Clinical Computer)
Forticlient
is preinstalled installed on your laptop.
Install (Non George Clinical
Computer – for e.g. consultants)
-Download
and install the latest version from http://forticlient.com/
-Select the correct version for
your Operating System
-During the Install process, when
prompted, install VPN only...DO NOT install Anti-Virus
Configuration
Non-GC
computers will need the initial configuration to be done by IT, which is a onetime
process.
